Oskoz, A. (2009). Using online forums to integrate the Standards into foreign language curriculum . In Scott, V. M. (Ed.), Principles and Practices of the Standards in College Foreign Language Education. (pp. 106-126). Boston: Heinle.

Teachers interested in ways students can use both face-to-face and Web-based online discussion to explore, analyze, and reflect on cultural topics will be interested in this article. After a review of research on both synchronous and asynchronous computer-mediated communication, the author describes an empirical study of intermediate-level students of Spanish engaged in cultural discussions. Results indicate that online discussion boards can serve to address several of the goals outlined in all 5 C's of the Standards.
