Adair-Hauck, B. & Donato, R. (2002). The PACE model--actualizing the Standards through story-telling: Le bras, la jambe et le ventre. French Review, 76(2), (278-296).

French teachers would benefit from reading this description of how to use the PACE (Presentation, Attention, Co-construction, Extension) approach to teaching a literary text. Using a Francophone African story (reproduced in abbreviated form in the Appendix), the authors present a step-by-step review of this approach including concrete examples from the text, figures, and illustrations. They propose that this approach is suitable for addressing the goals of the Standards.
