This article describes a K-8 Spanish curriculum for heritage speakers, including the theoretical underpinnings of the need for a heritage Spanish curriculum at the elementary school level, the local and National Standards that were consulted for its creation, and possible future directions for K-8 language programs. Specific examples of scenarios from the curriculum are included.
