Of interest to those involved in ACTFL/NCATE program review and development, the authors review professional literature pertinent to ACTFL/NCATE Standards, including the National Standards and their role, and present detailed information regarding how these Standards have had an impact on their own language teacher development programs. Three case studies of three different institutions, one private, two public in Ohio are described.
