This chapter would be of interest to teachers at any level, as well as researchers and administrators interested in how the Standards are intended to impact foreign language education, with a particular focus on culture. Phillips describes how, in a Standards-driven curriculum, culture moves from the periphery of the four skills to influence every aspect of the curriculum. She argues that culture dominates the 5 C's, as it interacts with all goal areas.
