Tesser, C. (2000). Moving from debate to dialogue: The Standards and articulation. ADFL Bulletin, 31(2), (78-79).

Addressing teachers at all levels, this article points out that the Standards speak to articulation between and among all levels and fields of the educational continuum. The author explains why she sees the wide usage of the Standards on the K-12 level as an opportunity for higher education and why she is convinced that the integrative approach of the Standards will have an enormous impact on language and literature departments throughout the country. Most important, the Standards should not be perceived as a threat to higher education. They offer a common language for policy building and teaching as well as an emerging common culture for the educational mission K-16.
