Austin, T. (2008). Learning about diversity through diversity. NECTFL Review, 61, (47-67).

Of interest to teachers at all levels and teacher trainers, this article illustrates how teachers and a teacher educator design innovative programs for world language instruction using principles from sociocultural theory, postcolonial theory, and critical theory. Through a series of vignettes of classroom activities, the authors address issues of diversity in the United States and in the world, which they consider to be a significant factor in instructional practice. The activities presented are grounded through the National Standards with reference to state Standards.
