This study, which investigated the Internet as means to actualize the 5 C's, will be interest teachers and researchers. Fifty-five second-year Taiwanese EFL students participated in the study, which used questionnaires to examine attitudes toward and perceptions of a web-based EFL project. The course included instruction on Internet use and the completion of a learner portfolio. The qualitative and quantitative analyses showed mixed results: positive attitude towards the project's enhancement of language learning and cultural awareness and some negative attitudes related to reading on the web. The author concludes that technology has the power to enhance language learning; however, scaffolding is necessary especially for learners who are reluctant to use web-based technologies in learning. Implications for instruction are described.#All #Substantialmention #All #English/ESOL #English/ESOL #Research #All5Cs #JournalArticle #Research #Community/JrCollege
