Verkler, K. W. (2003). Idea: Simulations: Interdisciplinary instruction at its best. Hispania, 86(2), (322-325).

In this article Verkler provides an overview of the Standards noting their explicit mention of technology for achieving learning goals. The author describes how pre-service FL teachers were asked to use technology to develop activities to help students achieve specified goals outlined in the Standards. The technology-generated instructional aids designed for elementary, middle, and high school FL learners served to familiarize pre-service teachers with the development and use of technology, thereby teaching them about the Standards and preparing them for teaching in an increasingly technologically complex world.
