Gruber-Miller, J. (2005). Developing listening and speaking skills: Practical ways to implement the Standards with the "Oxford Latin Course". The Classical Journal, 101(1), (87-98).

The author recognizes that the first goal of the Standards for Classical Language Learning emphasizes the importance of reading knowledge to communicate with the ancient world. Yet the author strongly promotes the second standard of the communication goal that emphasizes the importance of listening and speaking as tools to improve students' knowledge of Latin. The author explains the advantages of integrating listening and speaking skills in the Latin classroom and offers some basic activities for the use of spoken Latin in the classroom.
