Publications on the National Standards

This article proposes a reconsideration of curricular objectives at the post-secondary level with respect to the teaching of culture. The author explores notions of cultural identity and attitudes toward the target-culture and advocates a curricular module on cross-cultural awareness in lieu of emphasis on specific-culture content. Multiple activities for a curricular module on cross-cultural awareness are suggested.
