This book chapter describes a collaboration between K-8 teachers of French and Spanish and university professors to create an interdisciplinary, culture-focused curriculum. The project included seminars on contemporary Spanish and French culture, as well as lesson and materials development, led by university professors. Specific examples of lessons and activities are provided, as well as a description of the challenges encountered during the project. This chapter would be of interest to program administrators, K-8 teachers, and post-secondary educators who might consider implementing these strategies in their language programs.
