This book chapter describes a project undertaken by 7th grade Spanish teacher with a focus on building a bridge between a target language community (Chile). Through this project, students corresponded with Chilean students throughout the year and investigated Chilean culture through research, singing, and creating a folk-art project. Elementary and Middle school language teachers would be most interested in this detailed description of a successful, Standards-based project.
