Morin, R. (2007). A neglected aspect of the Standards: Preparing foreign language Spanish teachers to teach pronunciation. Foreign Language Annals, 40(2), (342-360).

Of interest to university departments that prepare teachers of Spanish, this article, a model for designing and implementing teaching materials for phonetics instruction, illustrates not only how important it is for teachers to engage in the teaching of Spanish pronunciation but also offers specific strategies for reaching this aspect of language teaching. The National Standards and ACTFL/NCATE Program Standards are cited as important policy documents for the foundation of this instruction.
