ACTFL seeks volunteers to serve one or two years on our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. The work of this Committee is an important way for ACTFL to act on one of the five pillars of its strategic plan.
The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee shall consider, advise, and make recommendations to the ACTFL Board that support the organization’s strategic goal of developing and promoting a diverse and inclusive language education community by working to break down barriers to access and opportunity.
The Committee will ensure that strategic objectives relating to diversity, equity, and inclusion are incorporated into ACTFL’s governance structure, initiatives, awards, and other programs, products, and services.
ACTFL members and nonmembers are encouraged to apply by completing a short application by November 30. All applicants will be notified of decisions by December 13.
Volunteers should anticipate committing approximately 5 hours per month to committee activities and responsibilities for a total of 240 volunteer points. All work will be conducted online.
