The Advanced Critical Languages Institute for Russian Immersion (ACLI) is a Total Immersion Russian language program designed jointly by the State University of New York at Stony Brook and colleagues from 7 Russian partner Universities. The 2011 program will be held in beautiful St. Petersburg.
The goal of ACLI is Ultimate Attainment (full fluency in a non-native language) in Russian, a Critical Language. ACLI students speak only Russian for the duration of the 6-week program. ACLI students enjoy wonderful Russian-speaking homestays while studying for 4-5 hours daily in small groups at the School of Philology of St. Petersburg State University. ACLI also includes lectures, films, and a dynamic cultural program. ACLI is especially appropriate for those who have already studied in Russia on a standard Study Abroad Program and want to be challenged further.
