Language lab ideas needed

We are going to build a language lab.  Could I have some recommendations about the most basic equipment a lab must have today?  And, what would be some most advanced functions a language lab could have today?  Thanks.

I would think about adding flash cards, visual aids, audio aids, maybe some video, and, of course, text books, but this is just my opinion. I am not qualified to give a certifiable answer, since, I have never opened a language lab.
