Gonglewski, M. R. (1999). Linking the internet to the National Standards for Foreign Language Learning. Foreign Language Annals, 32(3), (348-362).

This review will be interesting to both novice and experienced language teachers at any level who want to explore ways the internet can help to meet the goals of all the Standards outlined in the 5 Cs. Gonglewski reviews each of the Standards and suggests ways the internet can be used to meet these Standards. She argues that the internet offers the kinds of resources that help learners at all levels bridge the gap between the home language / culture and the target language / culture. The author also points out that teaching students to use internet resources takes them beyond the four walls of the classroom and can contribute to lifelong interest in the target language and culture.
