Description:

Calling all volunteers - the application to review submissions for the 2019 Convention in Washington, DC is now open.

ACTFL Convention proposal reviewers will assist with scoring and reviewing submissions. Volunteer reviewers are needed with expertise at all levels and in all languages in the following areas: articulation and collaboration, assessment and feedback, program and/or educator effectiveness, innovative use of technology, interculturality, languages across the curriculum, leadership and advocacy, literacy, personalized learning, research, proficiency-oriented language instruction, teacher preparation, and teacher recruitment and retention

Reviewers are assigned submissions to grade based upon their background and experience. A rubric will be provided to reviewers. Please note, anyone submitting a session proposal is eligible to apply as a reviewer but will not be eligible to review and grade their own session. The estimated time commitment will depend on the number of session proposals and the number of volunteers. But generally please expect approximately 15-20 hours of work.

Reviewers for the SIGs must be current members of the SIG to be eligible. Please use the "Communities" drop-down in the green menu bar and go to "My Communities", a list of all SIGs you are a current member of will be listed. For those interested in reviewing the general proposal submissions, the only eligibility is you must be a current ACTFL member.

Proposal submissions will close in early January. Accepted reviewers will be contacted soon after with information on how to access the proposals for rating. Reviewers will have approximately a month to complete their scores.
