1.  Can-Do Statements 2017

Posted 08-18-2017 21:33
Hello everyone,
Could someone please give us an update on the state of the Can-Do Statements that were being worked on this summer (2017)? I was really hoping that I could go back to school with a final document for my department.  If this was recently addressed and I missed it, I apologize.
Thank you for any information that you may provide.
Sincerely,
Dr. Corey Luisa Borzain

The revised NCSSFL-ACTFL Can-Do Statements are in their final editing for consistency, clarity, and the accurate description of what learners "can do" at each proficiency sub-level. The Can-Do Statements will be posted August 31 at https://www.actfl.org/publications/guidelines-and-manuals/ncssfl-actfl-can-do-statements

Thanks, Paul.

We are loading them into our district-wide grade book this year. Teachers find them very useful for standards-based grading.

Paul,
Thanks very much for the update. Is there a specific date in September for us to check back?

Do we know when the Can Do statements will be posted? I noticed that August 31st has flown by all of us.

As a publisher, we decided to write Can Do statements for each of the chapters for Exploremos, so that students could print them out to keep track of their progress and self-assess. These have been very well received! I've attached a sample to this message, from Nivel 3, chapter 1. I'd love to hear feedback on what we did well, what we can improve.
