----------------------------------------- We are considering changing our Spanish program to use the text  Avancemos . I would appreciate any comments in favor or against using this text and the supporting resources. I am particularly interested in comments about the online resources for students and teachers.

I would look carefully at the presentation of some of the grammar concepts with Avancemos.  The 2007 version is riddled with errors and inconsistencies.  Too many of the workbook pages and what are called by the publisher "practice games" are poorly worded or assume prior knowledge that a second language learner could not have.  I have not had a chance to review the 2010 edition, however.  That may be much better.

Additionally, I wouldn't rely on the online textbook as your students' only reference at home.  If your district has the funds, each student should have their own hard cover textbook at home.  The online system is flawed with this text.  However, again, this is based on my experience with the 2007 edition, not the 2010.

¡Buena suerte!

I use Vista Higher Learning, and have been satisfied with the online activities for the texts I have used. They keep up with new developments in technology, and the pedagogy is sound.

I have used Ventanas second edition for two years. This year, we are using the workbook as well as the hardback textbook. I like it very much. With the combination of the two and the online SuperSite, we have a variety of activities to do. One of the SS features that I particularly like is the VoiceBoard.
