Our district is going through a review process of our world language program. One of the issues we are trying to address is understanding what is currently considered Best Practice in foreign language teaching.

I suggest checking out the TELL project. http://www.tellproject.com/
Our district is adopting it as guidelines to best practice in World Language teaching. It's an extremely useful tool.

We use them in the teaching methods course at our university.
